This is a work of fiction, based on real events that happened in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. It was an exciting time during which the Lubavitcher Rebbi seemed to have messianic powers. One look into his eyes were all that was needed for the heart to fly. A renaissance brought hippies and artists, and writers like m, to take part in the baal teshuva renaissance and the spate of growing prophesy. Originally published independently as Asher’s Yarmulke. Forty years later, Yankele struggles to keep his kippah on his head. What is going on, and just before Shabbos. Yankele is literally set on his heels into the adventure of a lifetime, in search of a challah, in the midst of a snowstorm. But his yarmulke has a mind of its own. Read more
