Few sea kayaks trace their lineage as directly back to the original Inuit hunting craft as the Zegul Greenland T, and fewer still carry that heritage forward with this level of fit, finish, and on-water performance.
Designed by Johan Wirsen and built in A-Core fibreglass, the Greenland T sits in the middle of Zegul's Greenland family, sized for medium to large paddlers in the 140 to 200 lb range. It's 1.25 inches wider and slightly deeper than the smaller Greenland 17/7, with a keyhole cockpit and multi-adjustable thigh braces that dial in the snug, one-with-boat connection that makes Greenland rolling and edging feel intuitive. The manually adjustable backband takes a couple of sessions to set perfectly, but once it's locked in, the outfitting holds up across long days on exposed coastal water.
A-Core fibreglass construction brings real-world toughness to a heritage-inspired hull. Sandwich deck construction, a reinforced keel, and robust aramid seam taping inside and out mean this boat handles the rocky shores and variable conditions common across Canadian coastal and Great Lakes paddling without complaint. The slight rocker and hard chine give the Greenland T a nimble, responsive feel in rough and windy conditions, while the low sheerline cuts wind resistance and keeps the boat tracking efficiently. The ultra-low fore and aft deck heights are a genuine advantage for layback and forward rolls.
